Portrait Cellars

The front of the winery, some say the back

Welcome to Portrait Cellars

Eve Shaw Portrait Portrait Cellars is a small family Winery. Our red wines are grown exclusively at our 12 acre vineyard on Red Mountain near Benton City, Washington. We planted the vineyard in 1997 and call it "E & E Shaw Vineyards" for Ed and Eve Shaw. (We own it.) Our Riesling vineyard is in Prosser.

We're called "Portrait Cellars" because Eve is a portrait painter and we feature her portraits on our labels. The portraits are of family and friends, including our house label "Black Dog Red." The black dog portrait is of our winery dog, "Cabernet," aka "Cabbie." He is a quite large, docile Black Labrador whose job is to greet visitors at the door in the hope that they might have a cookie in their pockets. Should you ever like to see your portrait on a really good bottle of wine, talk to Eve.

Cab the dog We're open for major event weekends and by appointment which means you just pick up your phone and let us know how many people and what time. We don't charge a tasting fee. Feel free to feed the dog.
